Happy New Year & Season

Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth, Healing, and Gratitude

As 2024 draws to a close, we at She Moves Forward, Inc. want to take a moment to thank you for your support, encouragement, and participation this year. Together, we've achieved so much, and we're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside you on your grief wellness journey.

Highlights from 2024:

This year has been full of impactful moments and milestones. Here are just a few of the ways we've grown and served our community:

- Honoring Memories: Hosted Candles for Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Memories, creating sacred spaces for honoring loved ones.

- Widow Empowerment: Partnered with IndyArms for Widow’s Night Out, equipping widows with essential self-defense and gun safety skills.

- Caregiver Support: Hosted our first Caregiver’s Oasis in collaboration with Shé Butta Shop, providing a day of pampering for caregivers.

- Professional Contributions:

- Partnered wwith the Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center to provide grief wellness coaching for caregivers.

- Collaborative guest speaker with Dr. Sophia Wang of Indiana University on Emory University’s BrainTalk Live podcast.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Expansion is on the horizon! Here’s what we’re planning:

- New Partnerships : Collaborating with Sunflowers Bundles of Joy Foundation to empower single moms during their Mother’s Day event.

-Continuing Education to enhance business acumen and professional growth for our staff through participation in the 2025 Professional Women Leaders Program cohort.

- Enhanced Services: Transitioning toward more group coaching sessions while maintaining individual support upon request.

- Corporate Outreach: Introducing grief wellness to workplaces to support employees and teams.

- Increased Visibility: Growing our email communications and social media presence (don’t worry, we promise a balanced approach. We won't flood your inbox!😉).

- New Opportunities: Offering grief wellness training for those interested in making a difference in their communities.

And yes, amongst all the hard work, I also made it a priority to REST, RESET, and ENJOY life with my family and loved ones.

Maintaining a balanced life and dedicating time for self-care and soul care is something I regularly emphasize with our caregivers—and I practice what I preach. This year, I treated myself to my annual "me-cation" in the Dominican Republic and enjoyed a memorable photo shoot at the historic 100-year-old Partridge Inn in Augusta, GA—a must-visit destination! Last year, I discovered my new favorite quiet retreat in Augusta, and the two years prior, I found serenity on the beautiful island of Kauai.🏝

Your Weekly Challenge: Intentional Healing

Healing doesn’t happen by chance. It takes intentionality. This week, we challenge you to create a 5-minute daily connection practice:

- Send a quick text or handwritten note to someone on your grief journey.

- Write an affirmation for yourself and display it somewhere visible.

- Take a moment to appreciate your resilience or thank someone who’s been there for you.

Small actions lead to big impacts. Let’s focus on consistency and connection as we continue healing forward.

How You Can Help:

We invite you to join us in making an even bigger impact in 2025. Here’s how:

- Leave a Review: Share your experience on Google, social media, or the Better Business Bureau (we’re proud to have an "A" rating!).

- Donate Resources: Art supplies, funds, or even office space can help us expand our offerings.

- Volunteer: Become part of our mission. We’ll train you to support grieving lives.

- Contribute Financially: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your tax-deductible donations help us provide scholarships and resources for those in need.

Let us know how we can best support you in 2025. We value your feedback and welcome your ideas. Simply reply to this email or visit us at www.shemovesforwardinc.com.

Thank you for a transformative 2024. Here’s to an even brighter 2025!

With gratitude and hope,

Jan Mitchell
